Sorry. What can I say? I'm no blogger. My sister on the other hand has a pretty awesome blog that she decided to start last month. Check it out sometime here.
Sheesh! Over a year this time!? I really AM a slacker when it comes to blogging...

Well, Brexton Kyler Hassie was born on April 28th earlier this year and it is hard to believe that he is already 5 months old! He is such a good baby and a handsome one too! (; We are pretty sure he's teething since he is turning our house into a lake.

Justin and I bought our first house earlier this year and got moved in about a week before Brex was born (talk about bad timing)! Needless to say, our house is STILL not unpacked and not put together. We work on it little by little in whatever time Brex allows us to do so, but even then, he is such an adorable distraction that not a whole lot of work gets done.

Our summer was full of visitors and trips since everyone wanted to see our little bundle of joy (I don't blame them)! After he was born, his Nani (Grandma Oleson) stayed with us for about a week. Then his Gramma Booth came out for a week and a half. His Grampa Booth, Aunt McCall and Aunt Abby came out for about 4 days while Gramma Booth was here. Then his GrandBo (Grandpa Hassie) and Cici (Grandma Hassie) came to visit. His Aunt DaNay came a week or so after they left and he got to see the San Diego Zoo, Hollywood, and lots of other fun things in SoCal. When she went home, we drove to Utah for his blessing where he met lots of Mommy's cousins, Aunts and Uncles, as well as his Great Grandparents. We even went up to Idaho Falls so he could meet his 93 year old Great Great Grandma Pearson! He also met his future love, Addy! (: After we came home his Aunt Amanda came to stay with us for 3 weeks. While she was here we went to Disneyland and all over SoCal doing fun touristy things... It's a good thing Brexton likes to travel since he did so much of it this summer. Since then, things have slowed down for the most part. We usually go over to his Gram's (Grandma Graham) on Sundays for dinner, and we have made a couple more trips to Disneyland. Daddy went back to work and Mommy is FINALLY getting some work done on the house during the week.

We just celebrated our 3 year sealing anniversary over labor day weekend at Disneyland and got to stay at the Grand Californian! That was a blast!!!

Gavin comes home from Thailand for his mission in about a week and we are going to fly out to Minnesota and surprise him! We can't wait, but I wish that Justin could come too. He's stuck here working. He will get to go out there for Christmas though, so that will be fun!

I'm sure there's plenty more that I'm leaving out, but this will have to do since the little man is asleep now; which means that I can actually get something done around here (or so I hope)...
Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-78564054156465411642009-09-15T15:29:00.000-07:002009-09-15T16:01:48.856-07:00New news, or not?Wow, I feel like such a slacker!! I haven't posted anything since May!

Well, not much has changed here in the Coachella Valley, except that the weather was much MUCH cooler in May. If you think Tucson is hot, try spending a day out here! This summer it averaged 110-118, but it would get hotter than that some days. We get some coastal humidity, but no rain, so it can be kinda miserable. So I was really excited when yesterday our high was only 93!

A few weeks ago we found out that we are going to have a baby!!! I'm 8 weeks along today, and we are uber excited! I'm due on April 28th... Baby Hassie is just a lil peanut right now, but he/she is happy and healthy. (:

We are looking to buy a house again, since we have more of an idea of where we want to live now. We really want to try and buy before the end of the year, but don't know if that will still be possible since time is flying by and realtors aren't getting back to us.

In about two weeks we will be on our way to Yellowstone to escape the heat and visit family! Hopefully we can find our warm clothes. We haven't needed them in a while...Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-5109237398403982022009-05-01T17:13:00.001-07:002009-05-01T17:18:30.821-07:00Change of plansSo ignore that last post... Justin talked to the credit union with one last attempt, and they said that now they WILL finance us! If only they could have understood from the beginning. So we get to keep the Jetta after all and we don't have to spend all weekend driving and wasting gas! We are thinking about going to the beach instead... (:Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-35186057219921031082009-05-01T12:30:00.000-07:002009-05-01T13:38:34.820-07:00Car problems...We have to drive to Tucson tomorrow to trade back the Jetta for our old cars...

The credit union we were going through won't finance us anymore since we moved out of state (which is just weird if you ask me), so the dealership wants us to come pick up our cars and our deposit. I guess cars aren't worth as much in California, so nobody in state will finance us since the loan is for more than the car would be worth out here. Don't ever trade in your cars and then move out of state. It's too much work, and your credit just gets lower in the process as you try to find someone that will finance you.

It's a 6 hour drive each way, so there goes most of our weekend.

Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-71002842149377306752009-04-17T16:36:00.000-07:002009-04-17T18:46:24.244-07:00Florida vacation...So we have officially been moved in for 17 days, but have only been in our house for about 8... Judy went to Indiana to visit friends (practically family) while Justin and I went to Florida to visit family. We all really needed the time to relax after the big move.

We had tickets out of Tucson so we had to drive there and leave the GEICO car at Catherine's. We flew into Orlando and stayed at a condo with my family... It was really great getting to see them since we haven't seen them since they moved away. The girls were really excited to see us since they had no idea we were coming until the day that we got there! We watched conference on Sunday and went to the Orlando temple. We even were able to have our Sunday tradition for dinner -- roast! Monday we went to Epcot and a bird left me a present on my shirt that was oh-so-fun to clean up... It was first thing in the morning too, and I don't know how it got where it did. So we started out in Future World and then went to some of the World Showcase. We were exhausted already and decided to head out a little early to get rested up for the rest of the week. Tuesday was Hollywood Studios, so we hit up the big rides and got fastpasses to go on them again, and then did shows for the rest of the day. We even got to watch the American Idol Experience, which was pretty cool. We almost tried out but decided against it since it would be an all day ordeal if we got picked. I don't know if I would rather have Simon or this other guy critique me... I'm almost thinking Simon, since he at least has a cool accent when he tells you that you sound "utterly horrific"... Then we got to watch Fantasmic!!! We had perfect seats right in the middle, and we were bombarded with the wave on both sides of us. Wednesday was Magic Kingdom... It's really weird going there when you are so used to Disneyland's layout since it is so different! It didn't stop us from having fun spending time together though. McCall and I were a little scared to go on Winnie the Pooh and It's a Small World after reading Kingdom Keepers, but we survived. We even met Wayne! He told us that the next book is coming out in October... We watched fireworks that evening right by the castle, went on a couple rides, then went back to the condo. Thursday we went to Animal Kingdom and started out at the safari so we could see animals before they decided to hide in the shade from the heat. The rest of the day was mostly spent in DinoLand USA and Camp Minnie Mickey watching shows and taking it easy. Expedition Everest was really fun, but that Yeti was a lot scarier than the one in Disneyland, and now we know why (it's a Kingdom Keepers thing)... The Kali River Rapids were kinda sad though. Justin and I got sprinkled on while everyone who was wearing a poncho got soaked... We WANTED to get wet to cool off, and we didn't get drenched until we went for round two later on in the evening, but by then it was getting colder so we didn't want to get as wet. Friday we said goodbye so that we could drive down to Fort Myers and see Justin's Dad and Stepmom. It was nice spending time with them since we hadn't seen them since our wedding! Saturday we went to the beach and got really burnt, but it was sooo nice being there! I love the ocean!!! I almost got electrocuted in the bathroom at DQ on the beach, which is a story in itself. Hmmm... oh yeah, we went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner and Justin and his Dad ate a LOT of crab. Me and Cindy finished early and took a walk and when we came back they STILL weren't done eating! We flew back to Tucson the next day (which was waaay too soon) and almost missed our flight because security wouldn't let us take the snow globe we bought at Disneyworld for Catherine with us. So after a long day of flights and layovers we arrived in Tucson where I had to tell Catherine the bad news about her souvenir... She gave us the GEICO car back anyway and was happy to see us! Then we drove back to Desert Hot Springs and crashed on the bed.

Judy was supposed to fly back into Palm Springs the Tuesday after we got back. She had a layover in Phoenix and was stuck there for an extra hour since her flight was delayed. She finally boarded her small 50 passenger plane and they were off to Palm Springs. The wind was REALLY strong that night so there was a lot of turbulence. The pilot tried landing and circling a few different times only to realize that there was no way to get the plane down without crashing it. Everyone on the plane was terrified and afraid that they were going to die. Judy was already not feeling well since she got sick while she was out in Indiana, and the turbulence didn't help that one bit... The pilot realized that they would have to go to the Ontario airport to refuel or else they would run out of gas. They were trying to decide whether or not they would refuel and go back to try again or if they would just bus people back to Palm Springs. Then they heard that the Ontario airport was really backed up since there were so many other planes having trouble landing in Palm Springs, so they had to go to Los Angeles! Once they landed in LA around 11, they were waiting since there was no gate for them to go to. They finally got to a gate and told everyone that they needed to refuel and to exit the plane to stretch their legs. Once they were off the plane they were told that they weren't going to try again and that they decided to just bus them to Palm Springs (which is a 2 1/2 hour bus ride) and that the bus would be there around midnight. Which means they wouldn't get to Palm Springs until 2:30 in the morning. So Judy ended up staying at a hotel in LA and Justin left work early on Wednesday to go get her... Now we are all safe and home -- but Judy is still sick.

Justin loves his new job as a field adjuster and I got a part time job at Hollister so that we can have some money while I am looking for a more full time job... If you know anyone in the area that is hiring let me know!

Whew! That was a long blog... I guess I'm good for a while then huh? jk, I'll keep you posted!Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-91730772198787180062009-02-27T16:58:00.000-08:002009-02-27T17:11:31.497-08:00Moving to Cali ♥The moment you have all been waiting for... Justin was offered a position in Palm Springs, CA and they want him to start in 2 weeks! Yeeeah, it's kinda quick. This means we have to pack our house and Judy's apartment, look for a house, make an offer on a house, find me a new job, trade in our cars for one car, and do so much more all in two weeks. Did I mention that we both work full time jobs right now? Does anyone see how this is possible?

He will be a field adjuster with his own GEICO car, and doing all that fun stuff... He was pretty much bouncing off the walls when he called me and told me he got the job today! (:

We will be very sad to leave the friends we've made here, but it will be a good change.

Well, I have to get packing, but I just thought I'd let you know!Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-57489511139421284402009-02-20T10:54:00.000-08:002009-02-20T11:56:44.717-08:00Just Following Up...I haven't posted anything in over a month, so I figured I should at the very least let you know how the surgeries went...

Justin's surgery went well, but he was in a lot of pain (mostly because of the stent they put in), and he was out of work from Thursday - Monday. His recovery went well. I wanted him better, so I wouldn't let him do anything. (:

Judy ended up not needing the bypass on her leg, at least not yet. She is actually getting better circulation in her legs than she had last month. She still needs the other bypass if she wants to have even better circulation and potentially less surgeries in the future, but it is nothing that is an immediate concern of her doctor.

As for me, my bunion surgery is still not going to happen for a long time. I am not too worried about it since I sit most of the time at work...

Justin & I have been walking every day and are loving every second of it! ♥

I have more to say, but I don't want to say anything yet, because it isn't a for sure thing... So I will get back to you later about that!
Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-35803858206491194872009-01-16T09:36:00.000-08:002009-01-17T09:35:20.751-08:00Christmas Cookies & Holiday Hearts ♥Last night Justin and I had a huge craving for cookies... We had some chocolate chip cookie dough left over from the last time we made cookies, but Justin REALLY wanted sugar cookies. Since we didn't have all the ingredients or energy to make them from scratch, I offered to go buy some dough. (He had a headache that wouldn't go away, so I figured he should stay and get some rest...) Oh, and he requested that I get milk too!

When I got to Safeway I had no idea where to look. We usually go to Fry's for our grocery shopping, but Safeway is a little closer since we are in Sycamore Park now. I would have gone to Fry's anyway, but I was worried about my car. (that will have to be another blog...) So I walked up and down the aisles looking for each item on the list, starting on the south end. I guess they have a small section with lunch meats and cookie dough back by the milk in addition to the larger section in one of the other aisles. I didn't see any normal cookie dough, but I saw some Valentine's Day ones with hearts, so I grabbed those. Then I grabbed the milk and called Justin to see if there was anything else he wanted me to get. He decided that Nilla Wafers sounded good, so I went looking for those. Then I saw regular sugar cookie dough in the big section and also some Christmas tree ones that were a little cheaper. I ended up getting those instead (for obvious reasons) and because Justin got excited when I told him they were Christmas trees!

While he had me on the phone he asked if I knew who lived on Angel St in Layton. I told him that my Grandpa lived there. We had a package that was sent from that address, but there was no name so he didn't know who it was from. He asked if he should open it or if he should wait till I got home and I told him to wait. I was trying to think of what would have been sent to us, but figured I would know soon enough. So I checked out and drove home (hoping I wouldn't get stranded).

At home Justin showed me the package and like he had said, there was no name, just the return address. Looking at the address reminded me of Grandma, and I felt a warm feeling inside. We opened it to find a box with 2 things wrapped in it, a cd, and 2 pieces of paper. One of the gifts was for me, the other for Justin. I got an apron and Justin got a chef hat! The cd said Christmas Cookies on it...

The papers read:

"Christmas Cookies and Holiday Hearts"

"Dear Family,
Here is a gift that Grandma would have loved to make and give you! Grandma loved you kids so much; she always enjoyed baking cookies and spending time with you.
Grandma's favorite Christmas song was 'Christmas Cookies and Holiday Hearts'. You can remember Grandma when you hear that song and wear your aprons and hats.
We all miss her sweet smile and laugh. She truly was an Angel and will always be with us!
Love you all 'Dearly',
Aunt Keri and Grandma"

I think it is no coincidence that we wanted cookies and saw the Valentines and Christmas ones the same night that we recieved that package and read about the song, it was perfect timing!

Thanks for sending and sharing that with us Keri, and thanks for your help from the other side Grandma! We love you both!!!Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-83044618738047071592009-01-07T12:03:00.000-08:002009-01-07T12:48:39.950-08:00Surgeries...Judy went in for her second of three surgeries yesterday and she was discharged this morning! Normally her recovery process isn't this quick, so this is amazing news. We are going to pick her up after work today and maybe sneak in dinner at Culver's! hehe...

Justin FINALLY has a date for his surgery! It will be on the 29th, so we will both be off work the 29th and 30th so I can take care of him, and of course he will have the weekend to cover as well. It will be nice to have it done and over with so at least one of his kidney stones won't bother him anymore.

As for me, still surgery free... I need it on my bunions but now isn't good timing, and it has been tolerable, so I will tough it out.

Oh, and Justin has an interview next week for a field position in Tucson! We thought that they had gotten rid of it since he applied for it a few months ago and they had told everyone that they weren't going to fill it.

Soooo, keep your fingers crossed!
Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-1567905634260532192008-12-23T08:13:00.001-08:002008-12-23T08:38:39.279-08:00surpriseYesterday Judy went up to Phoenix for her follow-up appt. It went well, and they said that she will need to go in for her second surgery on January 6th for her left leg, and then after she recovers from that they will do surgery on her abdomen. No fun... They don't have a date for the abdomen surgery yet, I think most of it will depend on how quickly she recovers from the one on her leg.

Anywho, Justin and Judy got back to Tucson around the same time that I was getting off work, but they had to run a few errands... I had to finish my Christmas shopping too, so it worked out well. Judy started feeling sick so Justin took her home and then ran out to get a few more things.

When I got home, Justin opened the door and told me that he would have to guide me through the house with my eyes closed since he didn't get a chance to put everything away yet. I hadn't been feeling well so I just sat on the bed and tried to feel better. After a while he came in and told me that I could go out if I needed to, so I grabbed my shoes and purse so I could put them away, and opened the door. I noticed that half of the entertainment center was missing and that we had a new TV! I was shocked... I was upset at first since we had already talked about it and how we didn't have the money for one. He gets a raise in January so he didn't seem concerned about the money at all... He refuses to use it towards my Christmas money, so that's an extra hundred dollars that we weren't planning on around Christmas. <sigh>He had only spent $100 on it since the student he bought it from was moving back home and had to get rid of it fast. It's a nice TV though, and he got a good deal on it.

He wanted to surprise me with it, and well, it worked. I was very, very, surprised.Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-69835076300853211342008-12-16T13:53:00.001-08:002008-12-16T14:45:50.826-08:00kidney stones... good grief! So in my last post I mentioned that Justin's surgery is this Thursday for his kidney stones. Well, he went in for his pre-op appt yesterday thinking it was just going to be paperwork and whatnot, and they send him to Radiology Limited to get an x-ray. After he gets there they tell him he needs a catscan and then they were going to make him go to Oro Valley for this. He has already missed a lot of work for this and they want him to go waaay out of his way for a catscan that could easily be done right there where he is at? Doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, he tells them that they would have to just do it at a later time because they had just wasted his time and they won't be able to get him in until December 29th for that.

This means that I had to change my time-off... Again. (Originally I had te entire week of Christmas off, but since Justin couldn't get that whole week off I switched it to Thursday and Friday of this week so we could have time off together, and then it turned into surgery dates.) Margaret doesn't really like it when we change time-off and I feel really bad, but I tell her what is going on and that the soonest he would be able to go in for surgery would be January 8th. She let me switch my days off so I would work the rest of this week and be off January 8th and 9th. Those are the last days I can use this comp time before the next semester starts.

We crossed our fingers in hoping that those dates would work out for the surgery, and it turns out that his doctor will be on vacation that entire week. So now I am stuck with two days off that I would prefer to be earlier on so that I can finish getting the house ready for the holidays. The next available appt will be the the 22nd of January since they are already booked the 15th. So the soonest he will be able to be seen would be the 22nd of January and I feel horrible since I don't want him to have to wait that long.

I talked to Margaret again to let her know that the plan has once again changed and that I will no longer be off for his surgery those two days and she tells me to change my schedule back to being off this Thursday and Friday since I have to take the time off or else it will just be time wasted. This means that I will have to dig into my sick time when he actually goes in for his surgery...

Now the question remains... When is this surgery going to happen?

Good Grief!!!Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-64889870588925182422008-12-15T14:28:00.000-08:002008-12-15T15:38:26.853-08:00it's been a while...It's been a while, a LONG WHILE since my last blog... So I figured I would write to hopefully get myself back in the habit. (:

I can't believe that Christmas is only a week away! Time has really flown by this year... We don't have any big plans for the holidays, but Judy is staying with us right now, and my mother will be coming down for Christmas from St. George so it will be nice to have extra company!

Judy got back from the hospital last week and is recovering from her surgery. She is staying over at our place so that we can keep an eye on her and get things for her so she can rest. She is very independant though and tries to do things herself that she really doesn't need to be doing in her recovery stage. <sigh> We try to tell her to just rest and walk around a little with our help but she still gets up in the dark of the night to get things that Justin or I could help her with. We try to explain to her that that is the whole reason she is staying with us, and that we are there to help her and that we don't want her to get hurt or make her recovery any longer, so hopefully she will heed our advise and call us for help instead of trying to do things on her own when it is pitch black.

Justin is going into surgery on Thursday to have one of his kidney stones removed... (yay! only two more to go after that!!!) It shouldn't be too much fun, and he will need to take it easy like Judy this weekend, so I will get to play Mom and take care of both of them. (:

Hmmm... As for me, I have been up to nothing but work and trying to unpack from our move. Oh, and I read Twilight!!! It was AMAZING! I can't believe I waited that long to read it... So now I am DYING to read the other three. It's really killing me! Especially after reading the teaser to New Moon at the end of Twilight. I finally saw the movie this past weekend, and I must admit, they did a good job, but the book was still WAAAY better! hehe...

Work has been really slow lately since it is finals week and everyone is going home for the holidays... I survived an entire semester here at Campus Health, and I am loving it. Well, aside from the fact that you can sometimes feel the sick breathing on you when you are checking them in. hehe... I am very grateful that I haven't gotten sick (aside from the occasional sore throat) from working here yet. <knock>

The move went well, and if anyone needs the new address let me know, and I can get it to you! We had someone come out and help us finish the landscaping (we took care of most of it in one Saturday and then realized that we would need more help since the weed whacker we bought was kinda cheap and we had buffle grass that wouldn't budge). Anyways, they told us that we had a bad termite problem that we didn't know about until the day before we moved out of the house. The landlords (which are VERY unprofessional, and I will get into that later...) should have been keeping up with that and with our spider infestation. (yes, it was no longer just a problem, it was much, much worse) We had seen countless black widows in our garage and refused to park in it until it was taken care of, since that isn't very safe... We had seen waaay too many wolf spiders and baby wolf spiders for my liking, not to mention brown recluses, weaving orb spiders, and many others that we couldn't identify. As for the termite problem, just to give an idea as to how bad it was, we had a tunnel coming out of our bedroom wall about 7 feet off of the ground that Justin put a toothpick in and sealed with glue (this was before we knew it was termites). When we were actually moving, we moved one of our boxes that we never unpacked from the previous move and saw dirt on the floor beneath it. There were little holes at the bottom of the box and it was clearly eaten through, and once everything was emptied out, we realized they had eaten even more of the box than we had thought, but stopped at a red folder for some reason. Oh, and my personal favorite... In our computer room behind where we had one of our desks, we saw a little hole near the baseboard and there is a weed growing through it now... How that happened is beyond me.

We moved out on the first. The landlords have stood Justin up for the inspection twice now without telling him that they wouldn't show up... We have called them countless times and left messages so that we can get it taken care of and get our deposit back, and the month is halfway over now. Justin has done some research and found out that we can potentially get double our deposit back at this point. Which is good since they have wronged us in so many ways that I haven't even mentioned. I am just glad to be out of that house and one step closer to getting our own home so we don't have to worry about renting.

Well, I better get going since work is almost over... Take care everyone and I will try to write more often!!!Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-85915221207945785082008-08-21T13:21:00.000-07:002008-08-21T14:09:59.554-07:00Catching up some... I haven't posted anything in a while, so I am going to try to play catch up... I found out that they have an amazing tuition reduction program, so I am in the process of applying for Spring semester! Justin said he is going to try to take a class or two that semester as well!

♫ ♬ I will be joining the faculty/staff choir that meets on Mondays & Thursdays from 12-1 starting September 4th, so that will keep me entertained on my lunches! ♫ ♪

♥ Justin took me to Disneyland for my 21st birthday, and I will have pictures up either later today or tomorrow... Justin has to work from 7-2 so I stayed home and ran errands until he got off... We finally got the 6 disposable cameras that were on each of the tables at the reception developed. All of the pictures were grainy, but there were some that still looked good. Here are a few of them...

Once he got home from work we went to see Wall E (which was very good by the way) and then we went to dinner at P.F. Changs (which was also very good!) and exchanged gifts there... I got him Armani Code (really nice cologne), a $40 gift card to Sticks-N-Strings (a music store that sells guitars, drums, etc..), seasons 2 & 3 of The Office, Andromeda Strain, and some really yummy gum. He gave me Enchanted, 101 Dalmations, and an ablsolutely gorgeous star necklace!!! It's been an hour and a half already and he is still out so he must really need his sleep! Well, since he is out I thought I would write a blog to help kill time. Not about anything in particular, just about whatever comes to mind. Right now I am watching E.T. since I haven't seen it in a long time... So I think I will finish doing that even though it is almost over.Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-80125313070741156832008-06-30T22:33:00.000-07:002008-06-30T22:52:12.999-07:00The chase after close...My manager & I were closing tonight and when we were locking up, we heard some yelling coming from the desert area that is off to the side of our store, but behind the shopping center. Then we saw a red truck that was chasing this woman and almost running her over. He would get out of the truck and try to chase her, then get back in the truck. We called the police and once the guy saw us he drove off, but kept circling the block. The girl kept hiding in bushes and behind things so that he couldn't see her. Finally they police got there and tried to find the girl, but she had already run off. My manager went to the actual parking lot to see if maybe he was over there, and sure enough he was in the main parking lot waiting for us to leave so that he could go back and chase after her. Once he saw the police he sped off and they tried to chase after him, but I don't think they got out of the parking lot in time to actually catch up to him. They hadn't found the girl, or the guy and the truck by the time they let us go home. Hopefully she is okay...Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-76995856278440100712008-06-25T16:19:00.000-07:002008-06-25T16:41:01.338-07:00busy week...So much for finishing my blogs the other day. I hate spiders...I am going to write a few separate blogs today... I wanted to write them earlier this weekend but with all that has been going on I haven't really had a chance to do that. So the first one will be about spiders...

I know, I know... I am writing about something that I am really really afraid of, and that probably doesn't make any sense, but I just had to write about this.

So Justin & I were cleaning up for when DaNay got here. He opened the closet to get something and I was in the kitchen. All of the sudden he tells me to not to move. Well, 99.9% of the time when he says that he is trying to tell me that there is a spider without telling me that there is a spider. So I know he sees a spider and I freak out. I grabbed a paper towel and threw it at him so he could kill it. He said that he would need A LOT more and to just throw him the whole roll. So I did, and was confused since he never needs the whole roll to kill a spider. He told me that he thought it was a small tarantula, and my response to that was that I knew he wouldn't be able to squish a tarantula even if he had a whole roll of paper towels. Not unless he wanted to ruin the carpet and be able to feel it crunch... Then he has the idea of maybe sucking it up in the vacuum. I run in and jump on the couch, so I can make sure it doesn't escape. Well, it feel down into one of the boxes that was in our closet so Justin had to examine every shoe that was in the closet and everything in the boxes so we could get it. Meanwhile, I was still making sure that it wasn't making a getaway... We finally find it underneath his skateboard and it darts out into the open and just stops. That's when we realized that it wasn't a tarantula, it was a SAND DOLLAR SIZED BROWN RECLUSE!

Now a few days before this, I saw a sand dollar sized spider when I got home from work, screamed bloody murder, and almost ran back into my car and locked myself inside till Justin came out. I tried calling him to get him to come out since it was blocking my way to the door, but he was making breaded pork chops and his hand were covered in everything so he didn't answer. Finally the spider ran into the rocks and I ran into the house crying... Anywho, I am hoping that it was the same spider so that I don't randomly encounter another huge spider!

So back to the brown recluse... It is just sitting there and Justin tries to get it with a metal pole thing, but it darts and I am freaking out. Justin tells me to go into the other room so I book it into the bedroom and jump on the bed. At this point I am in tears and then he tells me to come back into the room. I guess that it had ran underneath the couch and Justin wanted me to watch the edge of the couch so I could let him know if it tries to run away. Then Justin decides he is going to flip the couch over so he can see it. The second he does that, the spider runs the wrong way and the edge of the couch with the wood catches a few of his legs, so it can't move unless they are broken off. So now that the spider can't move he gets the pole and gets it. I didn't believe that it was dead so I told him to take it outside to make sure that it was dead.

So yeah, I am really scared of them!Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-74776485696152804712008-06-14T01:17:00.001-07:002008-06-14T01:17:05.020-07:00Pictures

Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-1644046222728031262008-06-13T21:58:00.000-07:002008-06-14T00:20:57.563-07:00FeetI can't sleep so I am going to write about my feet... They are pretty much the reason that I am unable to sleep right now, so I figured that if I write about them, maybe they will stop hurting and I will be able to sleep. I know it doesn't make very much sense to you, but when you are tired and in pain, it makes more sense...

On Thursday I had a foot appointment to check up on my bunions and talk about potential surgery. Justin came with me so he could ask all the smart questions that I always forget to ask. Since he is going to Maryland for 3 weeks for training, we thought that maybe I would be able to have surgery right before the trip then go with him and just hang out at the hotel since there would be nothing for me to do other than help him study anyway. We thought that would be the perfect plan so I could still be with him since recovery would take 6 weeks or so. But the doctor said no since he would have to follow up at least once a week to see how my foot is doing and to make sure it is not infected. So I have to stay home. (I am going to miss him more than he knows!)

So we were trying to figure out when we would be able to get it done... I can't have it done before he leaves because August is going to be crazy! We are going to Disneyland for my birthday, we have to move because our lease will be up, and he starts his training here. I can't do it any sooner than August because I can't go on an LOA while I am in my 90 days. We can't afford to have me miss that much work financially right now either. So, I will have to wait till I can receive vacation time which won't be till after my 90 days. But then he will have started his training, and I can't get it done while he is in training because he won't be able to help take care of me at all... So we have to wait till he is completely done with training and that won't be until the end of October or the beginning of November. But then work might not let me off because of the holidays... But that would mean that I would have to wait till at least January and by then my feet will be a lot worse. Especially since I am on them 40 hours a week in uncomfortable shoes. I got them a size bigger than normal so that I could still wear my inserts with them. I then realized that they were too tight on the tops of my feet with them in there so I can't wear them with the inserts. So I can't wear the inserts at all, which is not helping my feet; my shoes are too big, so they are chaffing the tops of my feet and my heels; and standing on my feet as opposed to sitting 8 hours a day is killing them enough as it is! So now my bunions are sore and swollen. I miss my Etnies!!!

When I actually have the surgery it will have to be one foot at a time because recovery would be a lot harder if I can't be on either of my feet at all... It will be really weird when one foot is still flexible, and the other is fused at the joint. I will really miss being able to move my feet the way I can right now, but I will really be glad that I won't be in pain. It's times like this when I wish I wasn't as flexible, but at the same time, I am really glad that I am. I will miss my flexible feet that mold to whatever they are standing on. <sigh>Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7689964538412780340.post-82961102688635980722008-06-06T21:31:00.000-07:002008-06-06T21:47:36.310-07:00GEICO & DisneylandWe are going to Disneyland for my birthday and had our budget all planned out so that we could make that possible. Then Justin heard that for every person that calls GEICO to get a quote that mentions his promo code, we will get $15... You do not have to actually buy anything, just get the quote. If we can get 65 people to call, our entire trip (including gas) will be paid for!

Just call 1-800-342-9070
Don't forget to mention the promo code!!! 128545

Remember, 15 minutes could save you 15%...

It's so easy, a caveman could do it!!!Marissa @ Life is Fantasmichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11073832468370896512noreply@blogger.com2
